Technical Recruiter resume do's and don'ts
- Do: Lead every bullet with an outcome verb and a number: “Reduced median time-to-fill from 58 to 34 days.” Don't: List duties without results: “Responsible for managing the recruiting pipeline.”
- Do: Name your exact stack — Greenhouse, Lever, LinkedIn Recruiter, Gem. ATS keyword matching is literal. Don't: Write “various ATS and sourcing tools” and expect the parser to guess what you used.
- Do: Show hiring manager partnership: intake calibration, scorecard design, interview training. Don't: Frame the job as scheduling and coordination — that reads as recruiting-coordinator scope, not recruiter scope.
- Do: Quantify diversity work with pipeline metrics: “grew underrepresented share of onsite loops from 18% to 37%.” Don't: Claim you are “passionate about diversity” with no evidence attached.
- Do: Spell out the acronym and the phrase once: “applicant tracking system (ATS).” Don't: Keyword-stuff — repeating “recruiting” thirty times reads as spam to both reviewers and modern scoring engines.
